LUKE DEERING
Co-founder

Luke’s first passion was basketball, which led him to leave the UK to attend university in America in order to play his sport. Staying in the USA, he started his career with AI-driven data processing company Panjiva in 2008. In 2012 Luke returned to the UK to found edtech company VineUp, which provided a web application designed to connect students with successful alumni for mentoring and career development opportunities. In 2018 Luke sold VineUp and joined Yasmin Sarwar and Mario Peters at Curriculum.com as CEO.

Aside from his business activities, Luke is a published author. His book Accelerate is a guide for entrepreneurs to the world’s startup accelerator programmes that provide mentoring and funding to the next generation of great companies.

YASMIN SARWAR
Co-founder

In 2008 Yasmin founded Cardiff Sixth Form College (CSFC). It quickly rose in the league tables, and achieved No 1 ranking for A-level results in the UK within two years. After 7 consecutive years at No 1,  in 2016 Yasmin left CSFC to join Dr Mario Peters at Oxford International College (OIC). Under Yasmin and Mario’s academic leadership, OIC climbed the rankings to take over the UK’s No 1 A-level ranking slot in 2019. Yasmin is currently the Chief Education Officer at OIC.

Over the past decade, Yasmin has placed more than 600 students at medical schools and G5 universities (Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, UCL, and Imperial), with a 100% acceptance rate at Russell Group universities in the UK and at Ivy League universities in the US. 

Yasmin has been featured on TEDx and is an adviser to multiple government expert groups. She is an interview panellist for two leading London medical schools, and a team member of the Middle East and Africa Space Design Competition.

DR. MARIO PETERS
Co-founder

Mario started his career as a research scientist at Oxford University, where he worked in the field of space technology, developing scientific instruments for NASA space missions.

Mario moved into education in 1997, since when he has founded seven education companies including an international group of schools under the Oxford International College (OIC) brand, including six schools in China and Switzerland. OIC’s flagship school in the UK is currently ranked as the No 1 UK A-level school.

Mario sold the OIC Group to Oxford International Education Group in 2019 and remains  Non-Executive Chairman at OIC.
